Lewis Foster Lewis are a small team of design professionals who aim to provide our clients with a comprehensive architectural service. As architects we aim to provide a sound working relationship that will contribute significantly to the success of a project. Time spent in preliminary discussion about the requirements, the timetable, the budget and the nature and cost of professional services is time well spent.

Since founding the practice, Russell has built up a team of fellow professionals who share his vision and passion for architecture. Each member brings a different set of skills to be able to provide our clients with a complete service.

Russell Lewis

Principal Architect

University of Wales Cardiff (1982)
BSc (Hons) B.Arch
R.I.B.A.

Russell founded the practice in February 1988 in Bristol having worked with his father in Oxfordshire for several years. He qualified at the Welsh School of Architecture in the early 80s and is a chartered member of the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA). Russell has varied experience having worked with developers on both commercial and domestic projects and thoroughly enjoys sitting down with clients over the kitchen table, drinking coffee and discussing various design issues as he firmly believes all architects can have a dramatic effect on people’s lives and thoroughly enjoys this role. A keen sportsman and rugby player, plays golf, loves riding with his children and follows the welsh rugby team in his home town, Cardiff.

Simon Tweedy

Architect

University of Wales, Cardiff(1982)
BSc (Hons) B.Arch
R.I.B.A.

Simon qualified at the Welsh School of Architecture in the1980s where he first met Russell. He has been a Chartered member of the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) since 1989. Simon joined Lewis Foster Lewis in 2005 following 18 years in practice in Cardiff. Simon has varied experience having worked on special needs, healthcare, leisure, commercial and residential schemes for private, public and developer clients.

A proud Yorkshireman (despite living in Wales since 1982) he is a keen skier but enjoys all sports especially rugby (both codes), football – where he coaches his son’s U14 side, cricket and golf together with the less traditional pastime of darts.

Robin Godfrey

Designer

University of Wales Institute, Cardiff (2000)
BA (Hons)

Robin joined the practice in 2003 and comes from an unconventional route into Architecture. Having gained a degree in industrial design he went on to work for IKEA providing a space planning service before becoming an interior designer for an office interiors company. He now finds Architectural design rewarding, as every project provides an opportunity to provide a creative solution. Away from work Robin is a keen league Tennis Player and is currently very excited about the prospect of becoming a dad.

George Perris

Architect

BA (Hons) Dip.Arch
R.I.B.A.

George has worked for the practice for 10 years, since graduating from Portsmouth University, finally completing his chartered architect exams in 2008, a hectic practice project workload dictating otherwise beforehand. He has worked on all aspects of the practice workload from the very start, the smaller projects more often than not providing a more satisfying challenge.  Given the opportunity he'll work his love of modernist architecture and its influences into a design to create light airy ‘wow effect spaces’, a feature he feels is very important for any home to have that sadly almost all lack. He has a reputation within the office for being straight talking. As a cycle commuter he always has cycling kit hung drying in the office WC’s!

Simon Coles

Project Surveyor

Simon joined the practice in 2000 and has over 20 years experience as a Contractor, Project Manager and Surveyor. His experience as a contractor is invaluable and he personally renovated, re wired, plastered and made the tea when he rebuilt his own family home....a real labour of love originally built circa 1590 !! Unlike Henry VIII Simon only has one wife and says the only way he will move again is in a box !

Sian Stoate

Office Manager

Sian met Russell whilst she was undertaking the renovation and restoration of an old farmhouse which Lewis Foster Lewis project managed.  She was so happy with the end result that she decided to join us! Sian had already gained considerable experience in housing development projects with major house builders and now manages the office and is the first point of contact with all our clients.
